The Hindu Festival of Colours, Holi, marks the beginning of Spring. This festival, which involves revellers throwing handfuls of brightly coloured powder paint at each other, is traditionally celebrated in Northern India. However, it’s such a ridiculously fun thing to do that it was only a matter of time before other parts of the world joined in. And so, last weekend the community around Platt Fields Park in Manchester came together to celebrate an end (hopefully) of the cold weather by covering each other in a rainbow of colour.
